Major project's Initial Idea and Inspiration and my target audience

My project for Digital Arts is making a website that has a digital art gallery of my design. The Idea is to create small drawings that will be designed on pixelart.com. This gallery will hopefully contain a variety of pixel-drawn characters from old and new video games that are known to most people. The website will also have a brief background about the me 'the artist'.
I am interested in looking at different styles of drawing, like I usually do on www.pinterest.co.uk

These pictures of alien characters inspire me the most because they show how creative an artist can become by stretching their imagination as far as they can to give the audience the overwhelming experience of meeting an alien.
I won't draw aliens for my project but I will use the mindset different artists use for creating weird atmosphere for entertainment purposes. My aim is to make a digital gallery for passionate gamers who love those characters they grew up with and also to develop my skills as an artist.
