Art Portfolio Two - Plastic Fantastic, Initial Idea 2

Globally we are still under the threat of Covid-19 because it is still going around and there is yet to be a cure or a vaccine to end it permanently. The only messieurs we currently have against the virus is social distancing and personal protective equipment like alcoholic disinfectants and face masks. Many countries such as Brasil and the US are already experiencing a second viral wave and it would be very smart to invest in the production of such equipment because we all need them to protect ourselves and each other.
For a project I could design a number of cool plastic face masks like the ones in the pictures above. For my 2D pieces, I could create a gallery of either a digital design on Photoshop and Illustrator, or drawn sketches on paper, cardboard, wooden board, plastic board or even canvas. They could be illustrated with photos of real or sketched models. The gallery also can just be a series of paintings about people wearing newly designed face masks that can be just artistic to depict pandemic life and its new norms, the gallery could also be an artistic fashion show. Another purpose for the gallery is that it can be used for advertising and marketing purposes for companies to produce and sell the masks.
Along with the gallery, I can design and create one physical mask made preferably from plastic, but it also can be made from plastic foam, metal foil or clay. Dried terracotta clay mask can be painted on with acrylics to look like plastic.

  1. Exploring masks and barriers could give some really good outcomes, though you would need to think about the development of the 2D works to make them work within your progression and the theme.
